Rumours: Premium PSN, XMB Re-Design?
Today in question are two rumours concerning what Sony may announce at E3.
First up is a rumour that has been circulating the Internet for years, Premium PSN. The latest rumour suggests that Sony will introduce a yearly premium Playstation Newtork service that will include features such as a music streaming service that allows you to listen to music while playing games. The rumor also states users will be able to download a PSN game for free per month. The annual price for this premium service is estimated at under £50.
The next rumour is that a new XMB is going to revealed at E3. Sony have stated that they will not get rid of the XMB, especially as it features across the Sony franchise in TVs, Laptops, the PSP etc. So I don't think we will see an entirely new interface but rather a Re-design of the XMB to make navigation easier, better in game functionality and to add more features. The XMB has seen many updates since the PS3's launch and i expect this to be just that an update. Could it be the long awaited cross game voice chat? Only time will tell.
For more information on what Sony has in store for E3 check out their official E3 website.
